• GUMCEP hosts a yard sale/bake sale from 8 a.m.-noon in the Grace United Methodist Fellowship Hall.

• Martha Chapter O.E.S. meets at 10 a.m. at the Union Masonic Temple. Light refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m. All members are urged to attend. Installation of officers will be held.
• Lisa’s Place on Main Street in Whitmire hosts a fundraiser for Whitmire native Lynn Simmons Frick from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. A spaghetti dinner with dessert will be served.
Monday, April 15
• Bonham FCL meets at 11 a.m. in the Clemson Building.
• The Union County Council holds a budget work session beginning at 4 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Union County Annex. The public is invited to attend.
• The Union County First Steps Partnership Board holds its regular meeting at 5:15 p.m. at the Union County Schools District Office Annex located at 120 Lakeside Drive in Union. The public is invited to attend. Anyone wishing to attend that requires special assistance due to a disability is encouraged to contact Ms. Beth Thompson, executive director, at 864-429-1748, ext. 306 prior to the start of the meeting.
• The Union Master Gardeners meet at 6 p.m. at the Clemson Extension Office. Guest speaker will be Linda Cobb who will do a presentation on English Cottage Gardening for American Gardeners. The club extends an invitation to all past and present members and anyone interested in this presentation. Bring a covered dish if you would like to join us for dinner.

• The Wallace Thomson Volunteers sponsor a $5 jewelry and accessories sale by Masquerade in the front lobby of the hospital from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday and 7 p.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday. Funds raised from the sale will be used by the volunteers to help purchase medical equipment for the hospital.

• The Friends of the Union County Carnegie Library holds its annual book sale fundraiser on April 25-27 at the Lions Club building on Main Street. The sale will run Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. If you are a member of the FOL you will get 50 percent off your purchase. Memberships are available at the sale. This is the Friends largest annual fundraiser and all proceeds go directly towards supporting the Union County Carnegie Library. • The Union County Recreation seeks coaches for T-Ball and Coach Pitch Baseball for its Youth Baseball League. • The Austin Rehab Relay For Life team is raising money through three ongoing fundraisers: selling cookbooks for $10, selling short-sleeved T-shirts for $12 and long-sleeved T-shirts for $15, and $1 raffle tickets for a three-month fitness.
