The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:
— Pierre Peake, 43, of 205 Pinetree Lane, Union, was charged with distribution of crack cocaine around 3:50 p.m. on June 7. According to the arrest warrant, Peake distributed a quantity of crack cocaine to a confidential informant in exchange for funds provided by police in the City of Union.
— Quinton Deauntrey Dillard, 22, of 114 Morning Glory Road, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 6:07 p.m. on June 7.
— James W. Young, 38, of 131 Havird Lane, Union, was charged with abuse of animals on June 7.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incidents:
— A resident of South Pinckney Street, Union, reported on June 9 that a vehicle parked at her residence had been burglarized. The victim stated the passenger side window had almost been completely removed, and the suspect had also let the driver side window down. The victim said she noticed the vehicle had been rambled through, but was only missing approximately $5 in change. The case was turned over to investigation.
— A resident of Woodrow Street, Union, reported on June 9 that someone attempted to break into his home between 10 p.m. June 8 and 10 a.m. June 9. The resident noticed his front window had been tampered with, and the wire screen had been bent and unattached. The window had been lifted about one inch. The back door of the house had also been tampered with. Nothing was reported missing from the residence. Evidence was found, and the case was turned over to investigations.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:
— James Brett Shugart, 20, of 213 Spruce St., Union, was charged with simple possession of marijuana, no driver’s license in possession and littering around 2:05 a.m. on June 8. According to the incident report, officers made a traffic stop, and they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Shugart did not consent to a search, so a K-9 unit was called. The dog alerted on the vehicle, and Shugart was asked to step out of the vehicle. He had approximately 4.5 grams of marijuana in his pocket.
— Tommy Knox, III, of 947 Webber Lake Road, Union, was charged with consumption of alcohol under 21. He was a passenger in the vehicle.
— Kevin Wayne Haney, 25, of 820 Flat Drive, Buffalo, and Amanda Haney Bobo, 30, of 106 Chelsea Court, Union, were each charged with breach of peace around 5:49 p.m. on June 7. According to the incident report, Haney and Bobo would not stop yelling at each other, even after officers asked them to stop. Both were transported to Union County Jail.
— Kenneth Jay Levesque, 56, of 405 Drugstore St., Buffalo, was charged with disorderly conduct around 12:30 a.m. June 8.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:
— A resident of McKanic Road, Union reported on June 7 that a window had been broken out of a building on her property. A responding officer noticed 12 window panes were broken out of a window, but the building had not been entered. Damage was estimated at $100.
— A resident of Monarch Highway, Union, reported an identity theft on June 7. According to the incident report, the victim gave his personal information to someone over the internet and was later informed that several accounts had been opened in his name. The victim was advised by an officer to close his accounts or contact any banks with which he has accounts.
— A resident of Meansville Road, Union, reported on June 8 that his cell phone was stolen while he was inside The Pitt Stop, located at 1226 S. Duncan Bypass, Union. According to the incident report, the victim left his iPhone on the table when he went onstage to sing karaoke. When he returned to the table, it was gone. The phone was valued at $300.
— A resident of River Ridge Road, Pacolet, reported on June 8 that someone stole his dog between 4 p.m. on June 7 and 7 p.m. June 8. According to the incident report, the dog is a white male boxer, described as white with a brown spot on his right eye. The case was turned over to investigations.
