• Union County Council holds a budget work session at 4 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Union County Annex. The public is invited to attend.

• The Bethel United Methodist Church Relay For Life Team holds a “Relay For Life Dinner” at the church. Plates will be $8. The menu includes steak and gravy, fried chicken, rice and gravy, cream potatoes and gravy, green beans, Lima beans, macaroni pie, slaw, rolls, dessert, and tea. • The Union Master Gardeners meet at 6 p.m. at the Clemson Extension Office. Guest speaker will be Linda Cobb who will do a presentation on English Cottage Gardening for American Gardeners. The club extends an invitation to all past and present members and anyone interested in this presentation. Bring a covered dish if you would like to join us for dinner.

Union County is sponsoring the Meansville Riley Water Company's application for a $350,000 grant through the South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority. The grant would enable the company to install approximately 31,000 linear feet of new water main on eight different roadways and improve water quality. If requested to do so, should the county sponsor more such grant applications by other local water companies?
