The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:

— Charles Edward Wood, Jr., 45, of 1314 West Main Street, Union, was charged with first degree burglary, grand larceny, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of tools capable of being used in a crime around 1:03 a.m. on Feb. 4. According to the incident report, officers responded to a break-in on West Main Street when the victim reported that he came home and saw someone carrying his guns through his home and then out the back door. A Union County Sheriff’s Department K-9 tracked from the victim’s back door to a mobile home where Wood was located. Items recovered included five long rifles and two pistols (valued at a total of $3,000) as well as jewelry valued at a total of $2,000. Wood had a green flat head screw driver in his possession, with which he attempted to make entry into the back door. The attempt was unsuccessful and Wood eventually kicked the door in.

— Ashley Lalea Brown, 27, of 217 Gault Ave., Union, was charged with assault and battery around 6:10 p.m. on Feb. 4. According to the arrest warrant, Brown poked a woman between the eyes with her fingers while at an address on West Main Street, Union.

— Thomas Michael Gordon, 19, of 1247 Jonesville Lockhart Highway, Union, was charged with shoplifting around 10:20 a.m. on Feb. 3. According to the arrest warrant, Gordon took, concealed and carried away cell phones from Walmart at 513 North Duncan Bypass on Jan. 31.

— Brandon Wayne Hembree, 25, of 505 Meansville Road, Union, was charged with shoplifting around 9:40 p.m. on Feb. 2. According to the arrest warrant, Hembree took, concealed and carried away cell phones from Walmart at 513 North Duncan Bypass on Jan. 31.

— Sierra Danielle Rutledge, 26, of 114 Gold Road, Union, was charged with driving under suspension, traffic/failure to change address and traffic/failure to return driver’s license around 9:21 p.m. on Feb. 2.

— Quentin Xavier Smith, 17, of 101 Third Ave., Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 12:13 p.m. on Feb. 1. According to the arrest warrant, Smith engaged in a fight with another juvenile student inside the cafeteria at Union County High School on Jan. 31.

— Tommie Lee Means, Jr., 43, of 100 Hunters Run, Union, was charged with assault and battery around 1:10 p.m. on Feb. 2. He was transported to Union County Jail.

— Jeffrey Jerome Hall, 41, of 113 South Enterprise Street, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 2 a.m. on Feb. 2.

— William Eugene Vinson, III, 22, of 120 North Boyce Street, Union, was charged with driving under suspension around 9:10 a.m. on Feb. 1.

— Aubrey Jeter, 59, of 410 Henrietta Street, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 11 p.m. on Feb. 2.

— Barbara Ann Hall, 46, of 105 Lybrand Street, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 6:25 a.m. on Feb. 3.

The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incidents:

— A resident of Wallace Street, Union, reported on Feb. 3 that his vehicle was vandalized while parked outside his home on on that date. The driver’s side rear window was shattered, numerous obscenities were scratched into the vehicle and sugar was poured into the gas tank. An investigation of the incident continues.

— Officers responded to a break-in at Kirby’s ABC Store, located at 613 South Pinckney Street, Union, around 5:49 a.m. on Feb. 3. According to the incident report, a brick was thrown through the front door of the store, and items missing included two bottles of Crown Royal, one case of Seagram’s Smooth Vodka and a cash drawer containing about $50 in change.

— A resident of Hampton Avenue, Union, reported on Feb. 4 that his home was broken into. Items missing included a 22-caliber rifle and a 16-gauge double barrel shotgun. The case was turned over to investigations.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

— Bobby Gene Black, 50, of 726 Rice Avenue Extension was charged with two counts of shoplifting and three counts of possession of a controlled substance around 2:32 p.m. on Feb. 3. According to the incident report officers responded to Dollar General, located at 1303 Lockhart Highway, Union, in reference to someone shoplifting several pairs of socks from a package in the store. After watching the surveillance video and identifying the shoplifter’s vehicle, Black was identified and officers attempted to locate him. However, Black then returned to the same store and again shoplifted Dollar General brand Alert Tablets. After searching Black, officers found six pills believed to be Diazepam (a Schedule 4 controlled substance), seven pills believed to be Alprazolam (a Schedule 4 controlled substance) and seven pills believed to be Acetaminophen/Hydrocodone (a Schedule 3 controlled substance).

— Heather Dawn Black, 29, of 341 John Street, Union, and Algernaun Felise Walton, 25, of 312 South Mountain Street, Union, were both charged with shoplifting on Feb. 3. According to the incident report, officers responded to a shoplifter still inside the store Dollar General, located at 1303 Lockhart Highway, Union. When officers arrived, they found Black and Walton in the car together and obtained evidence of both subjects shoplifting from Dollar General. Black and Walton were transported separately to Union County Jail.

— Tracy Rene Land, 41, of 143 Cotton Top Court, Spartanburg, was charged with driving under suspension, driving with suspended license plates and failure to maintain proof of insurance around 3:55 p.m. on Feb. 4.

— Anthony Lewis Bedore, 28, of 612 South Pinckney Street, Union, was charged with breach of peace around 6:25 p.m. on Feb. 1.

— Chris Alexander Jeter, 35, of 124 Mark Street, Union, was charged with criminal domestic violence around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 2.

— Tiaria Shuntae Good, 23, of 114 Chambers Avenue, Union, was charged with driving under suspension around 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 4.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:

— A resident of Putman Road, Buffalo, reported on Feb. 2 that someone vandalized her home by breaking a kitchen window and throwing mud on the side of the home. Damage is estimated at $200 for the broken window.

— A resident of Strother Road, Union, reported on Feb. 1 that she was a victim of a scam. According to the incident report, the woman said she bought a car from someone on Craig’s List and sent the money through Moneygram, but the car was never shipped to her. The case is under investigation.

— A resident of Pine Street, Buffalo, reported on Feb. 3 that her vehicle had been scratched and dented over the entire vehicle. She said the vandalism may have occurred at various places within Union County or at Northside Correctional Center in Spartanburg County.
