Union County ran in cold, muddy conditions on Saturday at the Heritage Park Invitational in Simpsonville.
Three runners medaled during the meet. Jesse Luttner placed sixth in the boys’ varsity race with a time of 17:31:13; Amanda Sinclair placed 13th for the girls’ varsity with a time of 20:54:53; Kirsten Sanders placed third in the junior varsity race with a time of 22:35:90.
The girls' team placed seventh overall, and the boys placed eighth. They run Wednesday at Blue Ridge in their final meet before region.

Varsity boys: Sixth, Jesse Luttner ( 17:31.13); 26th, Cody Sills (18:24.29); 29th, Ethan Turner (18:27.11); 47th, Brandon Burton (19:12.61); 67th, Michael Kitchens (20:21.49); 77th, Cash Armstrong (21:11.29).
Varsity girls: 13th, Amanda Sinclair (20:54.53); 21st, Hydia Greene (21:40.53); 37th, Christa Green (22:48.34); 41st, Kelley Strong (23:27.57); 63rd Brittany Best (26:07.00); 73rd, Annie Willard (28:20.56).
JV girls: Third, Kirsten Sanders (22:35.90); 33rd, Alyssa Edwards (34:28.53); 34th, Angie Mayhorne (44:21.87).
