UNION — Mr. William Hicks “Bill” Robertson, 65, husband of Diane West Robertson, 206 Gibert St., Union, passed away, Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012 at his home after a sudden illness.

Mr. Robertson was born in Charlotte, NC, Nov. 3, 1946, a son of the late William E. and Gladys Hicks Robertson. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Engineering from North Carolina State University where he also was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. Mr. Robertson retired from Milliken Co., Monarch Plant and was a veteran of the US Air Force having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the BPO Elks Lodge of Union and Grace United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter Kathy Robertson Norton and husband David of Rock Hill; a son, William Kevin Robertson and wife Kimberley of Los Angeles, CA; two stepdaughters, Amy Weber of Union and Candace Weber Sturcken and husband Paul of Greenville; nine grandchildren, Kent Groves, Connor Medford, Brooks Sturcken, Trace Sturcken, Cali Norton, Croft Norton, Ivey Grace Medford, Cole Haney and Bailey Robertson; and one great-grandchild, Zachary Groves.

Graveside services with military honors will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale.

The family will receive friends at the home, 206 Gibert St., Union, immediately following the graveside services.
