UNION — Last weekend’s Uniquely Union Festival included a number of competitions, one of which was the festival’s centerpiece — the annual barbecue cook-off.
The cook-off was judged by the Southern BBQ Network, and scoring was as follows:
Overall Grand Champion — Killer Bees
Reserve Grand Champion — Waylon’s Wickedly Good Q
Top Pork Score — Killer Bees
Top Chicken Score — Lang BBQ Smokers
Top Ribs Score — Slap Yo Mama
First Place Sauce — Bubba’s Backyard Barbecue
First Place Chicken and Beef — On the Spot
Grand Champion Kids Q — On the Spot
Miss Uniquely Union
The festival also featured the Miss Uniquely Union Pageant. Winners were as follows:
Miss Uniquely Union Grand Supreme Queen — Kylie Gregory (age 12) of Union
Baby Miss Uniquely Union Princess — Teally-Rein Gray (age 10 months) of Spartanburg
Tiny Miss Uniquely Union Princess — Kimber Vicars (age 16 months) of Spartanburg
Wee Miss Uniquely Union Princess — Ally Farr (age 2) of Pauline
Toddler Miss Uniquely Union Princess — Lexie Smith (age 3) of Calhoun Falls
Precious Miss Uniquely Union Princess — Sara Gibbs (age 5) of North Augusta
Petite Miss Uniquely Union Princess — Emille Tobias (age 7) of Whitmire
Little Miss Uniquely Union Princess — Laurel Treadway (age 8) of Union

Hot Dogs And Doughnuts
The festival also featured a hot dog eating contest as well as a doughnut eating contest.
Nicolas Worthy won the hot dog eating contest adult division, receiving a prize of $50.
Mikala Lipsey, 10, and Jason Millwood, 11, tied for first place in the kids division of the hot dog eating contest. Lipsey and Millwood won $10 each.
Wilson Bates won the doughnut eating contest adult division, while Jake Sumner, 9, won the kids division.
