Union County battled a tough Woodruff tennis team on Thursday before pulling out its first region win of the season, 4-3.
“We found ourselves down after the singles matches 2-3, but our doubles teams played amazing tonight,” said Coach Kelly Jenkins after the game. “I can’t say enough about the fight that these girls showed tonight. Most players would have given up being down like we were, but they believed in themselves and pulled it out for the team. It’s good to start off the region with a win. We will have to keep working hard and improving as a team if we want to contend for the region title.”
