On June 10, 2012, the Union Cotillion Cub began its season with the annual debutante tea. The tea was held at the beautiful home of Dr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Marshall Craft. Mrs. Craft, the executive committee, and Mrs. John Harley Fallaw, hosted the tea.

The Union Cotillion Club has five debutantes to be presented this season. The five debutantes are Miss Morgan Elizabeth Hathcock, the daughter of Mrs. Marsha Elizabeth Jordan of Union and Mr. Floyd Raymond Hathcock of Lawrenceville, GA. She is sponsored by her mother. Miss McKenzie Carwile Wilson, sponsored by her grandmother Mrs. John Preston Carwile, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Douglas Wilson of Spartanburg. Miss Victoria Vowen Blackwell, sponsored by her aunt Miss Mary Virginia Blackwell, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Estes Blackwell of Greenville. Miss Ashley Brooke LaPierre, sponsored by Mrs. James Buddy Caviness, Jr., is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Grant LaPierre of Buffalo. Miss Merry Jordan Pierpont, sponsored by Mrs. Thaddeus Philip Arnold, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Lee Pierpont of Charlotte.

Mrs. John Preston Carwile and Mrs. Louis Merriman Jordan, Sr. hosted a brunch on July 21, 2012, for the debutantes, their sponsors, and their mothers at the Piedmont Club in Spartanburg. Also in attendance were Mrs. Fallaw, President, and Mrs. Kenneth Lee Leonhardt, Debutante Chair.

The annual Christmas Ball will be held Dec. 28, 2012, at the General Harry Arthur Armory. The new members will be greeted by guests and members and the debutantes will be presented. The cotillion will also introduce a group of young men who are sons and grandsons of members.
