Timken won the Dixie Youth City Championship with a 9-7 victory over the Elks on Wednesday night.
Timken, also the American League champion, finishes the season with a 19-3 record.
Will Palmer was the winning pitcher. Palmer, B.J. House, Caleb Henderson and Delow Means each had a hit; Justin McCucheon and Jordan Lawson each had a triple.
“I’m very proud of them,” said manager Scott Kendrick. “They worked hard this year. They had great attitudes. From Day 1, their goal was to win the city championship and they accomplished it.”
Timken is: Trey Bevis, Matthew Caldwell, Trevor Duckett, Henderson, Matt Haney, House, Lawson, Landon Livingston, Means, McCutcheon, Brennon Treadway, Palmer, Kolby Riddle, Kendrick (manager) and coaches Wayne Palmer and Michael House.
Shemar Glenn had two hits; Dancorius Glenn, Bryan Savage and Rykeen Green each had a hit for the Elks, which won the National League championship. Catorian Smith took the loss on the mound.
“Congratulations to Timken,” said Elks coach Pattrick Beacham. “They played well. It was a good championship series — all three games.”
The Elks took the series lead with a 10-7 win in game 1 on Monday. Timken evened the series with a 16-6 win on Tuesday.
