Hello again.

Where did June go? In our family it was celebrate birthdays. Matthew Mayhorne is now as of June 16 12 years old. I’ve written a lot about Matthew. He wasn’t supposed to live, but God has had other plans for him. He now lives in the Monarch Community. He goes to Morningside Baptist Church and loves it. Big sister Angela takes him and brother Andrew. The church family is very good to them. On June 16 Matthew’s family had a pool party in their new pool that is in the shade. He enjoyed his birthday.

Great-granddaughter Emily Smith enjoyed her birthday on June 20. Great-grandson Reid Smith was 2 (the terrible 2). He had a party at the Buffalo Race Track. I hear he had a great time.

I was surprised this past Sunday, June 26, to hear from a man in Crimora, Va. He said he grew up in Buffalo, SC. His name is Wayne Price. He named lots of Buffalo folks including my son-in-law Jimmy Smith. His grandfather ran the Coffee Pot for a long time. He talked so fast I can’t remember all he said. He said his address is Wayne Price, PO Box 392, Crimora, Va., 24431. He would like to hear from folks who remember him. Oh yes, his wife is a nurse, and his granddaughter is having a cowboy wedding!

What surprised me was my column and picture was on the Internet. Will wonders never cease?

On WBCU Radio they have a very interesting program, “Lets Talk.” Mike Stevens is the host. You can call 427-2411 and talk about most anything. Most of the time it is very informative, sometimes funny. Sometimes I put in my two cents worth. One day I was listening and Mike said WBCU is recorded and sent around the world. I called him and said “Do you mean my voice is going out of Union County?” He said yes, and right now you are being heard in China. I told him if it was they need to know Jesus. I pray they do.

My daughter Vonnie sent my writing and pictures we had taken to Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas. She and our families keep in contact by computer. Too bad I don’t know how to turn one on.

I would like to say thank you to one fine lady, Mrs. Peggy Inman. On Nov. 4, 2010 she started doing my laundry. She will not let me pay her anything. She gets out the spots and no one can fold clothes like she does. I just want to say thank you and God Bless.

Grandson-in-law and future grandson-in-law John Kasmirak and Chip Chambers come get the laundry and bring it home. I could never list these “boys” do for me. I’m glad I’m their Mimi. Thank you, boys!

My prayer list is long and I can’t write them all. Please remember Mollie Puckett, she has been in Spartanburg Regional Hospital for several weeks now. She is facing a long recovery.

I better not forget to tell you my new phone number is 864-424-9039. I didn’t get to call anyone this week. Please call with your news. You’ll make my day.

My grandson Jamie Smith just told me Buffalo Baptist Vacation Bible School had close to 200 children last night. Praise the Lord.

Remember, I can’t, God can, and He does.

Love, Ruby
