To the editor:
I would like to thank Lockhart Power for their generosity in 2012.
To celebrate their 100th anniversary, the company supported Jonesville by sponsoring the Jonesville Town Festival as well as a number of events in nearby communities.
They pledged to donate trees to our community, and in December the company planted 22 oaks at the Jonesville Industrial Park and Sports Complex and at Jonesville Elementary/Middle School. We spent the morning dedicating the 11 oaks outside of the school, and the kindergartners loved hearing about why trees are important to our environment. As the children grow, they will be able to mark their growth with that of the trees and be able to use them as an educational tool. These trees will forever be a source of pride for our children, and will beautify our school for generations to come.
Thank you, Lockhart Power, for dedicating your time, energy and resources to Jonesville’s children and our future.
