Running back Jermaine Lindsay scored on a 1- yard run and quarterback Matthew Barnett connected with Jordan Spencer for the two-point conversion.
Shakir Smith intercepted a pass and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown. Barnett hit Andrew Crocker for a two-point conversion. Sims led 16-0 at the half.
Midway through the third quarter, Crocker forced a fumble and Dwayne Smith recovered on the 15-yard line. Barnett hit Crocker for an eight yard touchdown pass.
Mark Smith also recovered a fumble. On several possessions the offense controlled the line of scrimmage and moved the ball well. The defense allowed Gable to cross the 50-yard line only twice.
"This was a great win for the kids,” said head coach Danny Gault. “They fought hard the entire game and never let up."
Sims' 8th grade team plays at Gable today. Sims 7th grade team travels to Dawkins next Wednesday.
SIMS VOLLEYBALL
BOILING SPRINGS - Sims volleyball team lost matches to Dawkins and Boiling Springs on Wednesday.
Dawkins won 2-0 (25-10, 25-7).
“We just acted like we were not even on the court,” said coach Tracy Duncan. “Not much aggressiveness, movement, just did not play as a team. I know we can.”
Boiling Springs won 2-0 (25-16, 25-18).
“We just can't seem to find the right combination of things to do,” said Duncan.
Sims (1-6) hosts Gable and Lockhart on Monday.

On Monday, Sims lost to D.R. Hill and defeated Florence Chapel.
D.R. Hill won 2-0 (25-14, 25-17). Sims won 2-0 (25-23, 25-16)
In the win, Kimber Hooker and Lindsey Murphy served well during game 1. In the second game, Demesha Norman, Murphy, Connor Wicker and Breshauna Henderson gave a great defensive effort.
“During this match we came together a little more as a team and had some great plays,” said Duncan.
