Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day, February 14. I hope you didn’t forget your sweetheart Thursday, because it’s really hard to get out of the dog house. Unless you’re like my husband was, one special occasion was just like another one. Just another day. And I did tell you last year at this time about my special valentine from him, but in case you didn’t read my column last year I’ll repeat it, because it’s kind of amusing.

He was a Shriner and would go off to different meetings, and always come home real late. So Valentine’s night I was asleep and he came in and woke me up and gave me a big red Valentine box of candy, which I told him that was really sweet of him to think of me. He said that they had sold them at the meeting he went to and they had just one left so he bought it. Yeah! He used to buy me tires for our car on my birthday, also.

Mortgage Burning

Wesley Chapel celebrated the burning of their mortgage Sunday, and had a dinner afterwards.

Anniversaries

Happy Anniversary to Paul and Susie McCutcheon on the 14th of February and the 17th for Robert and Loretta Warr and the 21st for Bud and Margaret Braddock.

Building A Gate

If you are one of my customers, then you’ve noticed that I’ve put up a gate on my shop porch. The first day I had to keep going out and letting everyone in, because they couldn’t get the latch open.

Well let me start off by telling you about this gate, I figured that if I bought the lumber for one it might take a couple of years for Chuck to make me one, because he’s a busy man. So I decided to make one myself. I bought a tall baby gate and some hinges. How hard can that be?

Well, Chuck did show up to help me, but by day two it was about torn down because, well never mind, anyway I bought some Ls and Chuck put them on the corners and put it back together. Then I asked him to make me a Redneck Latch. Now it’s a stick that moves on a nail. I think we’ve got it!

Clever Animal

Which animal do you think is clever, a cat or a dog? A cat, of course, have you ever seen cats pulling sleds through snow and ice?

Well, it’s time to say good night, call if you want to share any news, or if you are looking to rent a house. 1-864-545-6652
