UNION — Patrons are attending this year’s Union County Agricultural Fair in record-breaking numbers.

Keeping with tradition, the Union County Agricultural Fair featured “Church Night at the fair” Wednesday night, drawing a record attendance of more than 6,600 people. Church Night was sponsored by McDonald’s of Union.

Free tickets were issued to local churches, allowing members to enjoy praise and worship music specific to Church Night, as well as all other attractions and exhibits of the fair such as the Elephant Encounter Show or Kandu’s Fun Factory Game Show. Special Church Night ride promotions were also available.

The fair gates will be open from 3 p.m. to midnight tonight. The Elephant Encounter show times are 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Oak Brook Praise and Worship, Jenny Lynn Lee and the Snake Doctors will be featured on the fair stage, with the nightly rolling cash drawing taking place at 10:30 p.m.

Gates will be open from noon to midnight on Saturday. Elephant Encounter show times are 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The Union County Fair Beauty Pageant will run on the fair stage from noon to 3 p.m. Exhibitions from Ultimate Rhythm Dance Company and Union Karate Center will follow.

Then, audiences will be treated to performances by Ieshua and Ialiyah Taylor, Brittany Pridemore, Jenny Lynn Lee and the Eddie Lawson Band.

Trans-South Wrestling will present a full card of pro wrestling at 8 p.m., and the final rolling cash drawing will take place at 11 p.m.
