Jennifer Lynn Walker of Seneca became the bride of Phillip Lide Gregory of Columbia, Saturday, June 11, 2011, at 5 p.m. at Symmes “Pretty Place” Chapel, Marietta, S.C. The Rev. Matthew Stephen Phillips performed the double-ring ceremony.
A reception was held at The Inn at Brevard. Music was furnished by bagpipe.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Raymond Walker of Seneca. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Roy Gregory of Columbia.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was walked down the aisle by her father. Maid of honor was Miss Lisa Michelle Walker, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Dr. Jessica Penson Haynes, cousin of the bride, Misses Lindsay Rebecca Hoyle, Vanessa Ann Laug and Amy Carol Lee.
The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Dr. Stetson Reed Bickley, Mr. Wade Nicholson Harrison and Mr. Maximilian Nicholas Opheim. Ushers were Messrs. Gregory McRae Smith and Andrew Jarrell Smith, cousins of the groom; Messrs. Andrew Christopher Bates, Michael Harrison Bates, Samuel Matthisen Harris, and Aaron Joel Penson, cousins of the bride.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Seneca High School and received a B.S. from Coastal Carolina University in 2006. She earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2009. She is employed by McLeod Health in Florence as a Physical Therapist. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Matthisen of Forest City, N.C. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond H. Walker of Spindale, N.C.
The groom is a 2002 graduate of Hammond School in Columbia and received a B.S. from Virginia Tech in 2006. He earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2009. He is employed by McLeod Sports Medicine in Florence as a Physical Therapist. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Thaddeus Roland Lide of Columbia and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy B. Gregory of Union.
Following a honeymoon trip to Iceland the couple will reside in Florence.
