UNION — Mrs. Mary Louise Plexico Pettit, 93, widow of David Pettit Sr., went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

Mrs. Pettit was born in Cherokee County, S.C. March 14, 1919, a daughter of the late James Plexico and Effie Mae Horne Plexico. She retired from Her Majesty and was a faithful member of Welcome Baptist Church. Mrs. Pettit was very loving and devoted to her family.

Surviving are three daughters, Annette Johnson, Jean Sailors, both of Union, and Dorothy Rosborough and husband John of Columbus, N.C.; two sons, David Pettit Jr. and wife Avanelle and James Pettit and wife Joyce, all of Union; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Pettit was predeceased by two sisters, Florence Burgess and Azalee Jefferies; a brother, Woodrow Plexico and a granddaughter, Rhonda Pettit Littlejohn.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at Welcome Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Jarvis, Rev. Tony Pettit and Rev Brian Childers. Burial will be in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Tim Pettit, Andy Pettit, Michael Pettit, Chris Rosborough, Clay Moore and John Cribbs. The staff of Ellen Sagar Nursing Home and the staff of Medi-Home Hospice are asked to sit in a group.

Visitation will be held 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Medi Home Hospice, 101 S. Boyce St., Suite C, Union, S.C. 29379.

The family is at the home of David Pettit, Jr, 109 Camp Drew Road, Union.
