EDGEMOOR — Mrs. Marilyn Melton Osborne, 80, passed away, Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012 at Piedmont Medical Center.

Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at Woodvale Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Edegemoor ARP Church Cemetery in Edgemoor, S.C.

Born in Fairfield County, S.C., Mrs. Osborne was the daughter of the late Walter Melton and the late Ruby Foxworth Middleton. She retired from the Clelanese Corporation and attended Woodvale Baptist Church. She was the widow of Elijah Roy Osborne, Sr.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Roy Osborne Jr.; sister, Jackie Middleton; grandson, Mike Fincher; great-granddaughters Brittany Fincher and Arianna Osborne.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

Mrs. Osborne is survived by sons Wayne Osborne and wife, George Ann of Union, S.C., and Johnny Osborne of Edgemoor; daughters Janet Fincher and husband Michael of Rock Hill, Diane Thomas and husband Jerry of Edgemoor and Tina Rollins and husband Jerry of Chester; her brother, Walter “Buck” Melton of Whitmire; sister, Virginia Smith of Chester; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-son.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, and at other times at the home.
