A Union man ended up in jail for allegedly hitting and spitting in a woman’s face.

Tyvin Marquis Jeter, 33, 205 Hillcrest Drive, D, Union, is charged by the Union Public Safety Department with criminal domestic violence.

The incident report states an officer was dispatched Saturday to Jeter’s residence in reference to a disturbance. When he arrived, the officer found the victim and Jeter in the front yard. The report states the victim, who was crying, said Jeter had hit and spat in her face.

Jeter responded by saying the victim had scratched his forearms.

While the officer saw white marks on the inside of Jeter’s forearms, the report states he did not see any scratches or injuries. He did, however, see saliva in the victim’s hair.

Two witnesses told the officer they were standing outside Jeter’s house looking in through the front door and saw Jeter push the victim while inside the building.

Jeter was then taken into custody.

More Criminal Domestic Violence

A Union man was arrested after he allegedly damaged property and threatened to put a lit cigarette in a woman’s eye.

Timothy Dale Varner, 52, 105 Louise St., Union, is charged by the public safety department with criminal domestic violence.

The incident report states an officer was dispatched Sunday evening to Varner’s residence in reference to a domestic dispute. The victim said Varner was breaking property in the house. She said Varner had been taking pills and was having withdrawals from the medication. The woman said she feared for her life and that Varner had threatened to put out a cigarette in her eye.

The officer then spoke with Varner and read him his Miranda rights. The report states Varner said he understood his rights and wanted to talk to the officer. Varner said he and the victim had gotten into an argument and the victim began to break things in the house. He said the victim took a laptop computer, threw it to the floor, and jumped on it. Varner said he did turn over the living room table. He said he did not fear for his life.

The report states the officer, who did not notice any physical injuries to Varner or the victim, then placed Varner under arrest. He also notified the victim of the victim’s advocate form and where she could get help if she needed it.
