UNION — The Union County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of a North Carolina man earlier this week.
John Fallaw, deputy coroner, said Friday that Thomas Brian Gibson, 47, of Aberdeen, N.C., was pronounced dead at 5:22 p.m. Wednesday in the emergency room of Wallace Thomson Hospital.
Fallaw said Gibson was working with an electrical contractor on Fairway Drive Wednesday afternoon when a couple of coworkers found him lying on the ground unresponsive. Fallaw said they called 911 and an EMS unit was dispatched and transported Gibson to Wallace Thomson.
The cause of Gibson’s death is unknown and Fallaw said the investigation is continuing.
An autopsy was performed Friday morning. Fallaw said the results are still pending.
