UNION — Mrs. Louise Ruff Lymas, 97, 718 N. Church St., Union, widow of Jerry N. Lymas, died after an illness on April 28, 2012.

Mrs. Lymas was born in Union, a daughter of the late Sullivan Ruff and Sarah Eigner Ruff. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess, organist, missionary member, Sunday School teacher, BTU, and Senior Ministry member. Mrs. Lymas was formerly employed with Union County Public Schools. She attended Allen University of Columbia, SC, and Indiana University-Bloomington, Indiana, where she was an English Major. Mrs. Lymas was also a member of the Federated Club, Retired Educators of Union County, and the Southeast Baptist Missionary Auxiliary.

Survivors include daughter-in-law Mrs. Linda W. Lymas of California, Maryland; grandson Justin Yusef Lymas of California, Maryland; brother Sullivan Ruff Jr. of Chattanooga, TN; and Sarah Lewis of St. Louis, Missouri; and one grandchild.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lymas was predeceased by a son, Jerry Claude Lymas.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. J. Archie Calhoun officiating. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Corinth Baptist Church officers.

Wake services will be held Friday from 6-7 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at 718 N. Church St., Union, SC 29379

Union Community Funeral Home, 219 W. Main St., Union, has charge of arrangements.
