Two upcoming recruitment events will offer opportunities for local residents in need of employment.
Job Fair
On Thursday, June 7, the Union County Advanced Technology Center (UCATC) will partner with SC Works to hold a job fair — at the UCATC — from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
This will be the first job fair in which the UCATC will partner with SC Works. The fair is for job seekers to connect with employers who have positions to fill in the Union County area. Kathy Jo Lancaster — UCATC Director — said that all participating employers currently have open positions which need to be filled.
Lancaster said representatives from UCATC met with SC Works on Monday morning, and both expect roughly 300 individuals to attend the event.
As of Monday, the following employers are scheduled to participate in the job fair:
- ESAB Cutting and Welding Products
- Phillips Staffing
- Haemonetics
- Select Health of South Carolina
- Southern Vintage Corporation
- Wallace Thomson Hospital
- Wade’s Employment
- Dollar General Distribution Center
- Southeast Emulsions
Representatives from Spartanburg Community College and USC Union will also be on hand to provide information to potential students, discussing programs, services and course offerings.

Recruitment Event
SC Works Union and Renhill/HR On Demand will host a recruitment event on Wednesday, June 6, at SC Works-Union from 2-4 p.m.
Renhill/HR On Demand is looking to hire quality inspectors at a wage of $10 per hour. Applicants are asked to bring a resume.
In order to be considered for employment, applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. They must also be able to grind, file or sand surfaces, use both power and hand tools and have knowledge of metal finishing techniques. Applicants should have polish experience, being able to examine and feel surface metal for defects, scratches or dents.
At least 12 months of auto body experience is recommended.
