ASHEVILLE, NC — Mr. Jesse Blair Marshall, Jr., 75, 142 Antioch Drive, Buffalo, widower of “Pete” Fox Fowler Marshall, passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, North Carolina.

Mr. Marshall was born in Gaston Co., NC on Aug. 21, 1937, a son of the late Jesse B. Marshall and Virginia Stowe Marshall. He was retired from the United States Army where he served two tours in the Vietnam War and was awarded two the Purple Hearts.

Surviving are four daughters, Terri West and Husband Don, Shana Wheatley and husband Randy, all of Buffalo, Faye Fowler and husband Bruce Benjamin of Myrtle Beach, Melody Davis and husband Bruce of Forest City, NC; five sons, Gerald Fowler and wife Mary, Dennis Fowler and wife Angie, all of Union, Bobby Fowler and wife Billie of Annville, PA, Joe Fowler of Spartanburg, and James Fowler of Washington State; one son-in-law, Roger Hostetler; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Marshall was predeceased by a daughter, Mikki Hostetler.

Graveside services with full military rites will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Randy Smith.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
