UNION — Dorothy Mills Worthy Lindsey, 70, 505 Foster St., died Jan. 30, 2013. A native of Union, she was the widow of Thomas Lindsey and the daughter of the late Eva Jane Carter. She was reared in the home of Irene Delaney Dawkins and Julia Dawkins.

She was a member of Monarch Baptist Church and a former employee of Wallace Thomson Hospital. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Mills.

Survivors include four sons, Willie Walter (Dorothy) Mills Sr., Bridgett (Tina) Mills, Benjamin (Barbara) Mills, and Doland (Irene) Mills; and one daughter, Cathy (James) Peake; one stepdaughter, Dorethea (Eddie Dean) Salter; 20 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Otis Shippy, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Monarch Baptist Church with burial in Carlisle Christian Fellowship Cemetery. Public viewing will be Saturday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and other times at the home.
