BUFFALO — Mr. Donald David Nix, 75, husband of Mrs. Frances Nix, 120 Lee Spelts Road, Buffalo, S.C., died Friday morning, Nov. 9, 2012 at Wallace Thomson Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born Jan. 9, 1937, a son of the late Frank and Callie Davidson Nix. Mr. Nix had retired from The Torrington Company in 1998 after 22 years of service. He was also a member of The Union Church of God.

Survivors in addition to his wife are one daughter, Mary Alice Hicks and husband Joe; two sons, David Wayne Nix and wife Sammye, Donald Ray Nix, all of Union; one brother, Dean Nix; six grandchildren, Joey Hicks, Chris Hicks and wife April, Kelley Nix, Daniel Ray Nix and wife Bridgett, Matthew Nix, Caitlyn Nix; two great-great-grandchildren, Jackson Hicks, Jayce Hicks; a special sister-in-law, Janice Carter; a special brother-in-law, Jackie Wayne Barnes; and a daughter-in-law Stacie T. Briggs.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Vergil, Dan, Lawrence, and Mike Nix; and two sisters, Lois Nix and Mary McCloud.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at 4 p.m. at The Union Church of God with Revs. Tommy Brown, Carol Caldwell, and Robert Branch officiating. Interment will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home.

The grandsons will serve as pallbearers along with Richie and Jeff Barnes.

In lieu flowers the family request memorials be made to Harmony Hospice, 708 S. Duncan Bypass, Union, S.C. 29379.
