UNION — David Rice, 86, 196 Santuc Drive, died Oct. 11, 2012 in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A native of Union, he was the husband of Mary Smith Rice and the son of the late Jasper and Lizzie Farr Rice.
He was a member of McBeth Baptist Church and was retired from Monarch Mill.
He was preceded in death by three daughters, Joyce Brenda Rice Dowdy, Dorothy Linda Rice Wilder, and Selena Rice Smith.
Survivors in addition to his wife include three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and three sisters, Lena Love and Dorothy (Oscar Sr.) Gist, both of Union, and Wilhelmina Ferguson of Portsmouth, OH.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at 2 p.m. at McBeth Baptist Church, 105 Lawson Avenue, with burial in the church cemetery, 1511 Cross Keys Highway. The family will receive friends at the home.
Public viewing will be held Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
