The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incidents:
— A resident of Thomas Street, Union, reported on March 5 that someone had broken into his residence while he was at work. Items missing include a 32-inch Emerson LCD HDTV and a DVD player. The side kitchen window of the house and the front door frame were broken. Missing items were valued at a total of $195. The case was turned over to investigations.
— The owner of Timeless Treasures, located at 426 E. Main St., Union, reported on March 4 that a small, black 9mm handgun was taken from the business. The gun was last seen one month ago and was noticed missing on March 4.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:
— A resident of Barnado Road, Union, reported on March 4 that someone entered his residence and took a 60-inch Sharp Aquos LED television. The television was a rental and was current on payments. It is valued at $1,800.
— A complainant walked into the sheriff’s office on March 4 to report harassing/threatening text messages. He said he had received several text messages from a subject, asking him to pay him money and threatening to “burn him” if he did not. An officer made contact with the subject and advised him not to contact the complainant anymore.
