SEPTEMBER 15

THE BETHESDA BAPTIST CHURCH YOUTH MINISTRY will sponsor Fun in the Park from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Foster Park. There will be free food, games and music. Anglers are urged to bring their fishing rod. Fishing licenses are available at Wal Mart. A 14-day license costs $5 and a one-year license costs $10. Those 15 years and younger do not need a fishing license.

NEW HOPE BAPTIST CHURCH, 308 Linersville Road in Buffalo will hold a Yard Sale at 2 p.m. Chicken stew, hot dogs, boiled peanuts, and chili with beans will also be for sale. There will be something for everyone, come and fellowship with us.

SEPTEMBER 16

BETHLEHEM U.M.C. will a Homecoming and Revival Sept. 16-19. The Homecoming speaker will be Mike Scales. Lunch will be at 12:30 p.m. Bring a well-filled basket. Tea and supplies will be provided. Revival starts at 7 p.m. Rev. Kevin Dalton of Buffalo U.M.C. will bring the message each night with special singing. Bring a friend.

WEST SPRINGS BAPTIST CHURCH will have Homecoming with Sunday School at 10:30 a.m., Worship Service at 11:30 a.m. and Homecoming Dinner at approximately 1 p.m. Former pastor the Rev. Joe White will be bringing the message during the worship service.

ST. LUKE BAPTIST CHURCH in Lukesville will hold its Second Annual Deacon/Deaconess Program at 3 p.m. Dr. Bryant Cheeks will be the speaker.

COMMUNITY MISSIONARY CHURCH, 2230 Lockhart Highway, will have a One Day Revival at 4 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. William D. Scott of Brooklyn C.M.E. Church of Chesnee. Dinner will be served at 2 p.m.

COVENANT BAPTIST CHURCH is having Homecoming. Jack Bratton will be preaching. Lunch afterwards. Bring a well-filled basket.

CORINTH BAPTIST CHURCH will hold its Annual Revival at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Michael Bridges of Concord Baptist Church in Gaffney.

WOODSON CHAPEL BAPTIST CHURCH will observe Women’s Day with a program at 11:15 a.m. Sister Christianna McKissick, a member of Woodson Chapel, will be the speaker. The public is invited. Rev. Robert E. Collins, Pastor.

TRINITY BAPTIST CHURCH at 309 Barnado Road will have Homecoming. Sunday School will be at 10 a.m. and Morning Worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Tony Brown, a former Union residents and pastor of the First Baptist Church of Whitesburg, KY, will bring the morning message. Former members and friends are invited to join us for services and lunch. Rev. Neil Keisler is pastor.

FAIRVIEW BAPTIST CHURCH will have as its guest speaker at its 11 a.m. morning service the Rev. Bob Cato. Dinner will be served after the morning service. Rev. David Lewis, Pastor.

SEPTEMBER 17

THE UNION COUNTY BAPTIST ASSOCIATION WMU fall meeting will be held at Mon-Aetna Baptist Church. The opening session begins at 6 p.m. with RSVP dinner at 6:30 p.m. and conferences for all WMU groups at 7:15 p.m. A couple of guest speakers will also be a part of the evening. Churches should call Jean Capps at 251-0100 by Sept. 12 with the number planning to attend dinner.

SEPTEMBER 22

CEDAR GROVE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, Cedar Grove Church Road in Jonesville, will hold its annual Women’s Day Prayer Breakfast at 9 a.m. The program will be given by the Women of Faith. The keynote speaker will be Sister Sonja Harris of Spartanburg. Rev. Edward Pressley, Pastor.

SEPTEMBER 23

CEDAR GROVE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH will celebrate its annual Women’s Day at 3 p.m. This year’s theme is “Women of Faith Serving the Church, the Community and the World.” Guest speaker will be Sister Kimberly Johnson, first lady of White Plain Baptist Church in Laurens. Rev. Edward Pressley, Pastor.

SEPTEMBER 29

MITCHELL CHAPEL CHRISTIAN CHURCH YOUTH will host a Youth Conference from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a workshop section and a speaker section. The speaker will be Jasmine Rhindhart. Hot dogs will be served. Rev. Tony and Rev. Laquitta Griffin are the pastors at Mitchell Chapel.

SEPTEMBER 30

THOMAS CHAPEL A.M.E. CHURCH will hold a Gospel Concert at 2 p.m. featuring the combined voices of the Leeds, Carlisle and Santuc communities. Old spirituals and contemporary music will be performed. Musicians will be Stephen J. and Jerrod D. Pastor James F. Johnson Jr.

THE PACOLET RIVER BAPTIST ASSOCIATION will hold its Founder’s Day Services and crowning of king and queen of the Pacolet River Baptist Association at 2 p.m. The ceremony will be held in observance of the 138th anniversary of the association. The Rev. A.L. Brackett, Pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church and Mt. Zion Baptist Church will deliver the sermon. The public is cordially invited. Rev. Malachai Rodgers, Sr., Moderator.

THE SUNRISE GOSPEL SINGERS are celebrating another year of God’s praises. Please join us at 3 p.m. at Woodson Chapel Baptist Church on the Meansville Road in Union. May God bless our endeavor as we lift Him up through sons of praise.

THE UNION CHURCH OF GOD will hold its second annual Enormous Indoor Yard Sale beginning at 7 a.m. Baked goods and hot dogs will be served.

OCTOBER 21

FRIENDSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH under the leadership of the Rev. Michael A. Glenn, will celebrate its annual observance of Woman’s Day at 11 a.m. The Rev. Shirley Sims Gray, Associate Minister of Majority Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker. Friendship Baptist Church, located at 250 Morningside Drive, has 11 a.m. worship services every Sunday with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. For more information call 864-576-6285.

THE 142nd ANNUAL SESSION OF THE TYGER RIVER BAPTIST ASSOCIATION will be held at New Liberty Baptist Church in Fountain Inn at 10 a.m. The Rev. Michael A. Glenn is Moderator.

NOVEMBER 4

THE MALE CHOIR OF FRIENDSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH, 250 Morningside Drive, Spartanburg, will present a Fall Gospel Concert at 4 p.m. The public is invited. The Rev. Michael A. Glenn is Pastor.

DECEMBER 8

THE CHOSEN FEW INC. (MARY OWENS) will present a gospel play entitled “God Can Turn It Around” at 5 p.m. at the Head Start Center (old Jonesville Elementary School) on Alman Street in Jonesville. For more information contact Mary Owens or any of the cast members.
