THE COMMUNITY PRAYER MEETING will be held at the USC gazebo. All are invited to participate in a brief time of prayer for our community, state, and nation. You do not have to pray out loud to participate. Just come and join in silently. As we settle into the fall schedule, let’s make this a regular part of our month. This is a crucial time for us as election day draws near. Let’s join in prayer for God’s guidance in the campaigns and the election. If you can’t be at the gazebo, set aside some time during the day to pray for our community, state, and nation. All are welcome.

AUGSBURG LUTHERAN CHURCH, 151 Connector Road (by Brian’s Body Shop), is forming a Community Youth Choir with emphasis on Christmas 2012. Any child from 5 to 18 years old, whether affiliated with the church or not, may register at Augsburg Lutheran Church on Sept. 8 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Augsburg welcomes all children for fun, fellowship, and learning musical expression. NEW EMANUEL CHAPEL AND MEN OF ACTION will host “Bridging the Gap Between Church and Community” — a free unity day for the community at the Jonesville Municipal Complex (the old Jonesville High School) from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Purpose of the event is to raise community awareness on issues related to health, education, finance and other topics. There will be free vendors, food, and various forms of entertainment for all ages.

The opening session begins at 6 p.m. with RSVP dinner at 6:30 p.m. and conferences for all WMU groups at 7:15 p.m. A couple of guest speakers will also be a part of the evening.
