UNION — The Union County Chamber of Commerce’s next Business After House will feature live music and works of art courtesy of an institution and chamber member known for both.

Torance Inman, chamber director, announced that the next Business After Hours will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Union County Arts Council at 116 E. Main St. in Union.

Business After Hours is a quarterly event sponsored by the chamber to provide chamber members, their guests and other interested parties with an opportunity to meet and mingle in a relaxed environment.

Inman said that what’s unique about this Business After Hours is that in addition to meeting the chamber’s requirements for space and a willingness to host the event, is the art that will be on display and the live music provided by the Arts Council. He said the art and music will contribute to the atmosphere the chamber seeks to create during Business After Hours.

“We look for a venue that has the room and the facilities to house upwards of a hundred people over the course of a two-hour period,” Inman said. “Also room for the co-sponsors of the event to set up their information areas.”

“It’s all about finding a host that has the space and is excited about having us there,” he said. “The Arts Council has the space we need and they were excited about hosting the event. It is not often that we have a venue that has art and music as part of the event. This adds to the overall atmosphere we’re trying to achieve.”

Co-sponsoring the event with the chamber is Winters Law Firm, ServiceMaster Clean, Harmony Care Hospice and Spartanburg Community College. Each co-sponsor will have a table set up during the event with information about the services they provide.

“It will be kind of a trade show environment within an artistic setting,” Inman said.

The Union County Chamber of Commerce currently HAS 224 members including local and area businesses, individuals and organizations.
