A Buffalo man walked across a parking lot and right into jail on a wide variety of drug, gun, gambling and child neglect charges Saturday afternoon.
Julius Leander Good, 36, 3209 Buffalo-West Springs Highway, is charged by the Union County Sheriff’s Office with trafficking cocaine, possession of crack, possession of balltickets, open container, unlawful neglect of a child, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, unlawful carrying of a pistol and possession of a pistol by a convicted felon.
Good was arrested in the parking lot of the West Towne Plaza by narcotics officers acting on information that he was going to attempt to sell cocaine to two individuals. The officers observed Good arrive in a vehicle accompanied by a woman and two small children around 1:30 p.m. He exited the vehicle and began walking across the parking lot when the officers moved in and stopped him.
A search of Good turned up 44 grams of cocaine in his front left pocket and he was placed under arrest. It was then the charges against Good began to pile up.
The search of Good also turned up $2,065 in cash and balltickets and a search of his car turned up a loaded Hi-Point .380-caliber semi-automatic pistol wrapped in a shirt. An open container of beer was also found in the car.
Good told officers the drugs, gun, money and beer were his and the woman in the car with him had no idea what he was doing. The woman and children were released and allowed to leave with the vehicle.
When officers told Good they were going to his home to search for drugs, he admitted there were more drugs in his kitchen. Good consented to a search of his home and officers found approximately 7 grams of cocaie and a small amount of crack cocaine in the kitchen area. They also located two sets of digital scales in a drawer.
Good, who has a previous conviction for trafficking cocaine, was transported to the Union County Jail where he remained as of Monday afternoon.
