Bantams No. 12 in Division II rankings

UNION — USC Union’s first year baseball team has quickly made a name for itself as one of the top club teams in the nation. This week the Bantams leapt into the No. 12 spot in Division II rankings and also had two players recognized by the National Club Baseball Association for their outstanding performances.

Parker Burt was named Player of the Week after touching up DI No. 1 ECU’s pitchers during last weekend’s four-game series. In total, he went 6-11 with 2 HRs, 5 RBIs, 4 Runs, and 2 Walks to help USC Union take 1 of 4 games in the series.

Spencer Rash was selected Pitcher of the Week for his showing against ECU. Rash made two appearances over the weekend and went a total of 7 1/3 innings picking up one win. He allowed only 4 runs (2ER) on 4 walks and 5 hits. He also struck out five.

Today (Saturday) USC Union will look to protect its 12th place ranking when it takes on OC Tech at the Timken Complex at 12 p.m. for the first game of a double header.
