The Union County All-Star team defeated the Chester All-Stars, 12-5 last week to advance to the State Championship.

Coach Timmy Caldwell said the boys are playing very well as a team and looking forward to playing in the state championship.”

Leading hitters:

Matthew Caldwell 3 for 3, Quay Morman 3 for 4, Cameron Stevens 2 for 3, TK Jeter 1 for 2, DaDa Scott 2 for 3, Bryan Good 1 for 3, Dee Davis 1 for 2, LJ Thompson 1 for 2 and Micah Mills 1 for 1.

LJ Thompson was the winning pitcher and Bryan Good closed the deal in relief.

Union will advance to the state championship today in Florence to face Edgefield at 4 p.m.
