We are more than conquerors

Do you feel as if you spend most of your days in a defensive mode? Have you reached the point that you count your day a success if you can just “make it through” or “survive” the encounters you have with folks at work, school, or on the highway? Many of us get caught up in the everyday hassles and drama of life and we count it a “win” if we are able to hold our tongue and not be rude. It’s hard enough to hold our peace when we want to say things we shouldn’t, much less return evil with kindness and be a witness for Christ!

Romans 8:37 tells us “we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” This needs to be our mentality as we start each day. We must be determined to conquer each day instead of merely survive it. Now, we know we are conquerors because Christ defeated death, therefore death has no hold on us, but there is even more to it, we can be conquerors right now! Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life… and he gives us everything we need to live our lives with authority today! The only opportunity we will ever have to witness for Christ is while we’re on this earth!

To conquer is to take possession by force. We cannot remain idle and hope that change will come. Christ has made the way and given us the power we need to resist the enemy. Don’t coast through life in survival mode when you have the means available to live victorious. Don’t let this world beat you down. Demand the joy and peace that is rightfully yours through Christ Jesus!

Victory begins when we decide to claim it. We can be all that Christ promised if we will believe that we can. Do you believe that Jesus Christ is Lord? Do you believe that he died for our sin? Do you believe that he rose from the dead? Do you believe that his Word is true? Then why is it hard to believe that we can be more the conquerors?

Be encouraged today, and begin to live your life like you really are in charge of it! Make things happen instead of letting things happen to you. God loves you and sent His Son to die for you… do you really think he wants you to fail, or be downhearted? No, He wants you to be strong and have courage. Live your life by faith… God will do everything He said he would!

I pray, “Lord, help me live this day as though it were my last. Let me not worry about what might happen, but concern myself with the things You said in Your Word. I will be an overcomer because You said I could. I will be strong because You said I could. I will love and forgive others because You told me to. I believe in You. Give me this day all that need to finish strong and help others along the way, in Jesus’ name, amen.”
