No weapon formed against thee shall prosper

How great would it be to know you could never lose a game, no matter the sport? Sure, you may have bad plays, get bad calls, get behind in scoring, or even have a few injuries. However, in the end, you would always win! If that were true, then it would be easy to see why athletes could have a positive attitude, always smile and encourage their teammates. But shouldn’t we be doing that anyway? Knowing how to handle adversity is part of being a disciplined athlete. As Christians, we should be displaying that same kind of attitude in our everyday struggles.

The prophet Isaiah wrote in verses 16-17 of chapter 54 “Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. 17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.” …Wow, what great news! Yet, we don’t live like we know this.

God’s letting us know from the scripture that it was Him who created this blacksmith making these instruments, so no matter what he creates to work havoc against you, it will not destroy you. It won’t prevail. It can’t win. God created this waster and there is no way he can have more power than the Creator!

Maybe you are going through a struggle right now, and are already feeling defeated. Take heart, the enemy cannot destroy you or your life in Christ. Yes, there are times of difficulty, sadness, injury and trial, but we will always have victory if we continue in His Word. Even death has no hold on us! Christ will soon reign and all those who believe and follow him will forever be with him.

Satan has the ability to fan the coals into flame, and even craft a weapon to hurt us, but he cannot prevail! He will try his best, and you may get weary. He knows our weaknesses, just as an opposing team’s coach would study film to find ways to win against them. We must be ready, conditioned, healthy, and have a positive attitude. We will not lose! God will always reign supreme! So whatever tactics the devil is using against you… remind him, they are only temporary! Deliverance is on the way! “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper… This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.” — Isaiah 54:17b

I pray, “Lord, help me to honor You in all I do. Thank You Jesus for paying the price for my salvation and giving me victory. May my attitude always display assurance and determination. I believe Your Word, I believe in Jesus Christ, and I know that the enemy can not create anything that will prevail against me! Let my life reflect You, and my struggles serve as encouragement to others.”
