UNION — Heaven’s gain became the Earth’s loss when Sara Ann “Mimi” Fowler passed away at her home in Lockhart, S.C. on Feb. 4, 2014 at the age of 84.

Mrs. Fowler was born in Union, S.C. on Dec. 12, 1929 a daughter of the late Hayes Carwell and Sally Hames Breakfield. She was a proud Army wife and widow, and served this country just as honorably has her husband of more than 40 years, Augus Guy “Dood” Fowler. A proud steadfast member of the Lockhart United Methodist Church, she was truly one of God’s angels here on Earth. Her greatest joy came from helping people less fortunate than she was, and numerous residents of Union County are able to read due to her years spent with the Adult Education Program.

She was the world’s greatest mother to her children, Jimmy and wife Debbie, Patti and husband Peter, Mike and wife Mitzy, and Tamra and husband Wayne; the world’s greatest Mimi to her grandchildren, Monica and husband Casey, Brandy, Brittany, and Magen and to her two great-grandchildren, AJ and Cohen.

Mrs. Fowler was predeceased by one sister, Myrtie Cooper; and one brother, Jimmie Breakfield.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 at Lockhart United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Donna Eidson and Rev. Merritt Wentz. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Sammy Webber, Wayne Krejci, Peter Melotte, Casey Watkins, Buddy Rhymer, and Larry Inman.

Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Friday prior to the services at Lockhart United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to Lockhart United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 127 Lockhart, S.C. 29364.

The family is at the home, 3975 Jonesville-Lockhart Highway, Union, S.C. 29379.
