SPARTANBURG — Donald Wesley Roper, 49, of Spartanburg, passed away Sept. 18, 2013 at the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills. He was the son of the late Charles Leonard and Mildred “Sis” Bailey Roper and partner of Keith Geil.


He was of the Baptist faith, a truck driver for KMX Trucking, a longtime employee of Holden Ranch Restaurant and a member of the Lambda Car Club of Phoenix, AZ. He loved to travel, enjoyed the arts and fine dining.


In addition to his partner he is survived by a brother, Rusty Roper; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.


The family is holding a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at 403 Claremont Circle, Spartanburg, S.C. conducted by Rev. Laura Jones.
