WHITMIRE — S. David Prince, 77, of 101 N. Main St. passed away Thursday, Sept. 5 at the Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg, S.C.

He was born in Whitmire and was a son of the late Samuel Franklin and Minnie Bell White Prince. Mr. Prince retired from Cone Mills Carlisle Plant. He was U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of the S.C. National Guard.

Surviving are his wife, Joan Prince, of the home; son David Prince (Chrissie) of Florence; daughters Donna Brock (Randy) of Whitmire, Rhonda McCall of Rock Hill, and Bonnie Pressley (Barry) of Whitmire; brother Tommy Prince of Whitmire; sisters Frances Erskine of Whitmire, Margie Felker of Whitmire, Lula Harrison of Laurens, and Dorothy Stewart of Union; 10 grandchildren, David Prince Jr., Lucas Prince, Grayson Prince, Gina Brock, Daniel Brock, Amber Cabiness, Heather Carvalho, Rebecca Pettit, Jessica Pressley, and Nicole Pressley; as well as four great-grandchildren, Nathan Rector, Jayden Rector, Madelyn Pettit, and Tyler Salley.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Whitmire followed by burial with military honors in the Whitmire Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Whitmire.
