UNION — Lovella Stewart Means was born Nov. 30, 1939 in Union, South Carolina. She went home to be with her Lord on June 26, 2014 at Spartanburg Memorial Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of more than 50 years of the Rev. Luther W. Means Jr. of the home. She was the daughter of the late Lee C. Stewart Sr. and the late Emma Bell Stewart.
Lovella was a faithful and devoted member of and the founding First Lady of Community Missionary Church where she served until her health declined.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Luther King Means (Donna), Pacolet, South Carolina, Marvin Keith Means Sr. (Marla), Pacolet, South Carolina, Rev. and Kelvin Darrrell (Michelle) Means Sr. of Jonesville, SC; one sister, Sadie Ruth Davis, Woodruff, SC; one brother, Leasee Store and Ruby of Santuck, South Carolina; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Stewart Smith.
Services will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Community Missionary Church, Monarch, South Carolina with the Rev. John W. Wilkes officiating.
Burial will be in the Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery in Pacolet.
The Union Community Funeral Home is in charge of the services.
