BUFFALO — Mr. John Lynn Phillips, 65, 1307 Linersville Road, Buffalo, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at Flat Drive, Buffalo.
Mr. Phillips was born in Union, SC June 26, 1948, a son of Arthur Lynn Phillips and Mary Cody Phillips of Union. He was a 1966 graduate of Union High School and received an Associate Degree from Spartanburg Technical College. Mr. Phillips was owner and operator of Leonard’s of Buffalo and was a former co-owner of Phillips Hosiery Mill. He was a veteran of the US Air Force having served in Vietnam.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a son, Jeffrey Phillips of Union; two sisters, Kay P. Smith of Columbia and Sally C. Phillips of Roswell, Ga.; a brother, Mac Phillips of Fletcher, NC; a long time partner, Arana Coleman of the home; two nieces, Hannah Kinney of Columbia and Sophia Phillips Rushing of Roswell, GA; and two nephews, Riley Phillips Rushing of Roswell, GA and Alan Smith of Columbia.
Mr. Phillips was predeceased by a nephew, Austin Phillips.
Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Roger Estes.
Visitation will be held in the Greater Union Church following the graveside service.
