UNION COUNTY — Union County High School’s varsity and JV teams fared well against Chester this week.


In varsity action, the Yellow Jackets defeated the Chester Cyclones in a final score of 6-1. Highlights included Charles Johnson going two for three and scoring three runs, and Quay Cooper went two for three with three RBIs.


In JV action, the Yellow Jackets defeated Chester in a final score of 19-6.


“Another good night hitting the ball and sound defense,” said JV Coach Jeff Bailey.


JD Cheek pitched four innings, collecting six strikeouts and giving up three hits. Cheek was also two for three at bat. Ryan Vaughan went two for three; Franklin Thompson went two for three; Debo Woods was two for two; AJ Hunter was one for four; and Shi Smith was two for two.
