The Union County JV Girls basketball team defeated Woodruff High School with a final score of 25-23 on Thursday. The girls overcame a nine-point deficit in the first half to get the victory.


Coach Brian Kemp said Cassie Horne and Alexis Beatty provided aggressive defense that helped spark team’s comeback. Alexis Beatty led the team with nine points and Heather Petty with five, both coming off the bench. Cassie Horne and Mya Stevens both scored four and Macy Scarborough scored three.


The next game is at home against Clinton High School on Monday.
