UNION — An upcoming free event will offer youth an introduction to the sport of golf.

Clubs 4 Kids — a program conducted by the South Carolina Junior Golf Association — will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 8, and is a free event for boys and girls ages 6-18.

The purpose of the event is to introduce youth to the game of golf in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. All children are welcome to participate, and each participant will receive a custom fit golf club.

Local program director Jamie Jeter said the free program — made possible by a grant from the Carolinas Golf Association — is for any child that has the desire to learn the great game of golf. Any civic group, educational facility, or organization with ties to the welfare of children is also invited to attend.

All interested individuals and groups may call call Jamie Jeter at (864) 238-0256 to register for a fun day of golf introduction.
