FORT MILL — The Sims Tigers wrestling team traveled to Fort Mill on Saturday to compete in a tournament which they dominated. The Tigers had 27 wrestlers compete, out of which, 23 placed in the top three.

Coach G.B. McDaniel said the students did well, especially considering most have only been wrestling for two weeks this season.

The Tigers also won eight of the 17 weight classes, and the eight gold medalists from Sims were Quentin Aughtry, Hunter Petty, Ricky Belue, John Addison, Jordan Kershaw, Drey Glenn, Sammy Brannon and Jurvae Gray.

McDaniel said 10 of the Union County JV wrestlers also competed in the tournament, with Jacob Gregory, Luke Dill and Trevell Norman getting wins.

The Tigers will travel to Greenville this weekend to compete in the Hillcrest Invitational. McDaniel said he encourages everyone to come support the team — four-time Peachtree Conference Champions — as they “Drive for Five!”
