UNION — The UCHS JV volleyball defeated Clinton Wednesday, winning two of three games.
Coach Sherry Jackson announced that while the team lost the first game against Clinton 10-25, it came back to win the second game 25-19 and the third game 15-11.
“I am glad we were able to win at home to end the season on a high note,” Jackson said. “We will travel to Chester on Tuesday for our last game of the season.”
Jackson praised the efforts of the member of the team.
“Macy Scarborough had four kills and one tip,” Jackson said. “Mary Scarborough had three kills and made some great passes. Caitlin Grant had six assists and two aces. Savannah England had two kills. Brianna Fowler made some great passes to the setter. Kasie Roark continues to serve well; she had three aces and one kill.
“Cheyenne Knox and one ace and one assist; she also made some really good passes,” she said. “Claire Pridemore had two aces. Taler Stines did a really good job picking up tips and short hits. Skylen Morris made some good passes to the setter.”
Jackson added that the team’s victory was a result of its working together and its determination to win.
“It was a team effort and they came through without giving up,” Jackson said. “It was a hard f0ught win and I am glad we came out on top.”
