UNION COUNTY — The Union County Yellow Jackets look for their first win of the season in tonight’s Homecoming game against the Newberry Bulldogs.

Although the Yellow Jackets are currently 0-4 for the season, the competition thus far — Spartanburg, Gaffney, Greer and Fairfield-Central — has been extremely stiff.

Tonight’s homecoming game against the undefeated Newberry Bulldogs will be especially important for Union County’s 16 senior players, as this will be the last homecoming game they play at Union County Stadium. This year’s senior Union County Yellow Jacket football players are as follows:

  • Andrew Adamo (LB)
  • Matt Barnett (QB)
  • Ben Beck (QB)
  • Tevon Briggs (DE)
  • Braylin Brown (LB)
  • T.J. Foster (WR)
  • Vernon Gilliam (OL)
  • A.J. Gory (LB)
  • Jamarcus Henderson (DL)
  • Donnell Hunter (OL)
  • Shawn Kemp (DB)
  • Denzell Means (RB)
  • Dontae Nash (DE)
  • Dejuan Shell (DB)
  • Shakir Smith (LB)
  • Jordan Spencer (DB)

Last year, the Yellow Jackets snagged a 35-28 win over Newberry on the road in their final non-conference game of the regular season.

After tonight, Union County will play five straight teams in their region, beginning with next week’s home game against Woodruff.
