BUFFALO — After a five-month closure, the bridge over Buffalo Creek on Riley Road was reopened on Wednesday.

Shane Parris, a South Carolina DOT resident construction engineer for Union and Cherokee counties said Thursday that the bridge on Riley Road was officially reopened some time on Wednesday.

The bridge was closed to through-traffic on Jan. 20, and was completely replaced.

Parris said the barricades have been removed, but there are still a few detour signs which will be removed by a subcontractor within a couple of days.
