UNION — A group of Union residents who enjoy painting and enjoy drinking coffee while they do so are once again meeting each week at the Union County Arts Council.
“Painting with Coffee” is a recurring program of the UCAC in which participants gather each Tuesday at the council’s gallery on Main Street to paint while socializing with one another over cups of coffee.
Until this week, however, the group had to meet at the home studio of Betsy Skipper, the UCAC’s Artist in Residence.
The group had to meet there because the UCAC had been closed for renovations to repair water damage to its floors. The project, which also included other improvements to the gallery, was finally completed earlier this month and the UCAC reopened to the public and to those participating in its programs like Painting with Coffee.
On Tuesday, the group had its first meeting since the UCAC was reopened and participants enjoyed their return, celebrating in the appropriate manner by, of course, painting and having coffee.
