UNION — The Heartland of Union Assisted Living /Rehab Center will hold its Sixth Annual Red, White, and Blue Celebration on Friday and the community is invited to attend.
Supervisor/Admissions Coordinator Virginia Babb announced Wednesday that the event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a hot dog supper served to residents of the facility and their families.
“We are asking if the families will each bring a box of Little Debbie Snack Cakes to be shared,” Babb said.
The celebration’s outdoor festivities which will be open to the community will begin at 6 p.m. on the grounds of the Assisted Living Center at 709 Rice Avenue Extension.
“The community is invited to join us at 6 p.m. to help us celebrate and share in the fun,” Babb said. “There will be an area set up for the children which will feature a jumpy house and various games and hot dogs for every one. The adults can enjoy entertainment which will be provided by Josh Lydia, Hwy 49 Band, and Brian Redding and Family from Philippi Baptist Church.
“Please bring your loved ones sunglasses and hats and remember to bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the festivities,” she said. “Tents will be set up for residents to sit under.”
Babb said the celebration will conclude with a fireworks display which she said will begin at dark.
While the celebration will be hosted by Heartland, Babb said a number of other organizations are helping sponsor it including Upstate Medical, Ambu Star Transport, Gentiva Home Health, Gentiva Hospice, Medi Hospice, Blue Ridge Hospice, Hospice of South Carolina, and HSG Cleaning Company.
