GAFFNEY — On Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 4:45 p.m., the Mary B. Thomas Girls Youth Circle Unit #16 arrived at Foster Chapel Baptist Church waiting to embark on another adventure of service. As they boarded the van ready to depart, excitement and anticipation showed on their faces.

The girls were asked to be hostesses at District 5 Eastern Star Queen Banquet at Bethel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Gaffney, SC. The girls looked so professional in their black and white.

As they arrived at their destination, they were ready to serve. The girls immediately took the initiative to prepare for the arrival of guests, and ready to serve over 100 people. The food was wonderful and they were complimented on their attitude, appearance and conduct.

The Grand Supervisor Deputy of District 5, Sister Daisy Wylie gave a special recognition to the girls and said, “Our nation need girls like the Mary B. Thomas Girls Youth Circle to reach and recognize their full potential. The lessons learned will help these girls contribute more to their families and communities as well as the nation’s workforce.”

Thank you Assistant Mother Advisors, Mrs. Annie Hill and Mrs. Ruthie Gault who are always there to help chaperone. Special thanks to Mr. Tony Stewart, whenever called upon to drive us to our many events, and provide support any time, any day, and any place with a smile and words of encouragement.
